CUFFS: REAL LIFE

 How far does the extract try to create a sense that it is portraying 'real life'.

The extract attempts to show the sense of real life, by showing the audience that the police officers have a social life. This is seen when Donna, Jake, Lino and Brian are eating their lunch in a canteen. This is seen as a everyday in real life, showing that police are normal people in the real world, when they take a break from their job. 

Cuffs also has a lot of digestion sounds for example, talking, sounds of the public, digger, moving cars, the police radio. Digestion sounds shows the audience that Cuffs is seen as a "real life" and it shown to be more true and real. Digestion sound is when sound happens in day to day life and not edited in after the scenes have been filmed.

  In media, cross cutting is used when the film is switching between scenes, people or places. It can be      used when things have been unfolding and want the audience to be aware of what's happening. Its used a    as a powerful point of view narrative.

MOJO - MEDIA LANGUAGE

Main splash / image: who is it and does it celebrate the person? How is it lit? Is the singer made to look important? How many other images are there? 

The cover of mojo magazine is Neil Young. The cover is very bright and lively it has lots of colours and make Neil look popular and fun. Neil is right in the middle and is its focused on his face and and upper body showing he is respect and proud. Its also adverting Cd music and Neil is showing to have has Cd at bottom showing more people about his music and why he is so respected.

How 'busy' is the cover as a whole?

Are there cover lines (additional articles)? How organised are they? Do most music magazines have a similar number of cover lines (additional articles)?

The cover is quite busy and may be overwhelming, this is because there lots of writing on the sides. The writing is talking about all the articles inside the magazine. The cover lines are  organised and easy to see and read, most magazines normally have a similar number of cover lines.

What are the main colours and is there an accent colour?

The main background colour is blue and a calming orange.  The font is in white as its contracting the blue nicely.

Is there a cover mount and is this typical of MOJO?

This is a typical MOJO front cover as it has a big picture in the middle and other articles/adverts on the side.
